Cobh Green Hub – National Pilot Project
Cork County Council, in partnership with Cobh & Harbour Chamber and the Southern Region Waste Management Office, is proud to announce the launch of the Cobh Green Hub project. Cobh has been selected as one of six pilots nationally. The project aims to foster a community-led approach to drive local action on circular economy and climate action, working in partnership with Cobh Tidy Towns, Cobh Zero Waste and Cobh Sustainable Communities.
The Green Hub initiative will provide resources and support to local businesses looking to adopt more sustainable practices, including waste segregation and reduction strategies. Businesses are invited to book a one-to-one session with a waste advisor who will briefly drop by individual business premises to help identify simple changes to improve waste segregation and recycling. A very informal and friendly approach with absolutely no judgement.
A suite of materials, developed by MyWaste, including bin signage, posters and training animations will be made available to businesses, free of charge. The campaign will also recognise businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.
