Deposit Return Scheme
The Reverse Vending Machines are now operational, marking the commencement of the national Deposit Return Scheme (DRS).
Our Retail Committee visited the stores of our members who have invested heavily in this initiative – Eurospar, Murphy’s Centra and Supervalu.
The Deposit Return Scheme is a circular economy initiative that aims to create a closed loop recycling system guaranteeing the materials are returned, disposed of correctly and recycled into new drinks containers.
