Several crucial projects are actively underway, including developing a new platform at Kent Station, double-tracking the Midleton to Glounthaune line, and a comprehensive re-signalling upgrade. The Chamber eagerly anticipates the positive impact these initiatives will bring.

Irish Rail also aim to provide a 10-minute service, electrified trains, and additional stations, including Ballynoe, which will greatly benefit our community. These improvements are set to positively impact both residents and businesses in Cobh and its surrounding areas.

The Cobh and Harbour Energy and Infrastructure committee’s chair Johanna Murphy recognises these ongoing projects’ will play a pivotal role in addressing the growing demands of our community’s transportation needs, bolstering efficiency and reliability within the commuter network.
